Research Support for the Multi-Manager Hedge Fund "Susanoh"
"Susanoh" is a multi-manager hedge fund focused on the Japanese market, affiliated with the "United Managers Japan Endowed Chair" and the "Minami Lab" at the Kyoto University Graduate School of Management. In this long-term internship, you would have supported data preparation and analysis related to the fund — an opportunity to gain practical experience in fund research.

Responsibilities
- Building and updating the list of hedge funds under review
- Organizing fund information, investment strategies, performance data, and related materials
- Gathering information from fact sheets, public disclosures, and websites
- Qualitative and quantitative verification of Japanese market exposure
- Compiling and maintaining monthly return data
- Foundational research on hedge funds and multi-manager strategies
- Participating in online meetings in Japanese and English; preparing analytical materials and databases
Requirements
- Able to conduct research, read materials, and attend online meetings in both Japanese and English
- Interest in financial markets, asset management, and hedge funds
- Accurate and careful data handling in Excel / Google Sheets
- Able to work autonomously in a fully remote setting and to report and consult appropriately when questions arise
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data processing in Python, R, SQL, etc.
- Basic knowledge of monthly return and performance analysis
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Eurekahedge and HFR
- Academic background in finance, economics, statistics, data science, or related fields
